The water comes from the snow that melts and the rain that falls in the region and then is filter through the porous lava surrounding the volcano. As the water flows it picks up healthy minerals and becomes highly alkaline.

In fact, Waiakea makes a concerted effort to help others achieve and maintain good health. They do this by partnering with agencies like Pump Aid, which provides newly built water pumps to residents of rural Africa. Through their efforts, 1.35 million Africans now have access to clean water. Now these same people are better educated, have less exposure to water borne diseases and have fewer instances of malnutrition. Building the pumps also created jobs for the unemployed.

Waiakea Water is a very socially conscious company. They give approximately 5% of their revenue to the public due to their donation of 650 liters of water for every one liter of water that’s purchased.
